Solar Panel Cleaning
Dirt and grime stop light reaching the cells, which can noticeably reduce how much energy your panels produce. Dust, bird droppings, pollen and algae all accumulate on the glass over time. We clean solar panels using pure deionised water with no detergents — chemicals can leave residue that attracts further soiling. Regular cleaning protects your investment and keeps your panels generating at full capacity.
What's involved
How we approach Solar panels work
Solar panels perform best when their glass surface is clean. Dust, pollen, bird droppings, moss and general atmospheric soiling accumulate on the panels and scatter or absorb incoming light before it reaches the photovoltaic cells. The energy loss depends on conditions, but even moderate soiling is worth addressing — particularly on panels with a shallow pitch that don't self-clean effectively in rain.
We clean solar panels using pure deionised water with no detergents or chemicals. Chemicals leave a residue that actually attracts further soiling; pure water evaporates completely clean and leaves no film on the glass. The soft brush head used in our reach-and-wash system agitates and lifts soiling safely without scratching the panel surface or damaging wiring and seals.
We work from the ground using our pole system wherever possible — panel access without roof work. For panels that require closer access we will advise before the visit.

Common questions about Solar panels
What is pure-water cleaning and why is it better?
Pure-water (deionised) window cleaning forces tap water through filters to remove all dissolved minerals. This purified water is fed to a soft brush head on a telescopic pole, which scrubs the glass and frame, then rinses it clean. Because there are no minerals in the water, it evaporates without leaving any spots or streaks — something tap water cannot do.
Do you need access to my water supply or power?
We carry our own pure water in tanks on the van, so we don't need access to your water supply for a standard window clean. We are self-contained and don't need a power connection either.
Can you do a one-off clean or is it regular only?
Both. We're happy to do a one-off clean for any reason — moving in or out, spring clean, pre-sale, or just because the windows need it. We also offer regular 4-weekly, 6-weekly and 8-weekly schedules for ongoing maintenance.
